“Our Best Is Not Inadequate”
There are so many expectations surrounding our school administrators, teachers, parents, and students as we approach the return to school date. The enemy wants us to feel overwhelmed or inadequate in our abilities to meet those expectations. When the disciples came to Jesus with the expectation of the people being fed they were overwhelmed by the idea of how they could do it. They were limited by what they knew and could see. Thousands of people were gathered, there was not enough money or place to purchase food. Yet, they brought forward the 5 loaves, and 2 fish. Yes, it was inadequate to feed so many but it was the best they had. Jesus took what was given to him and multiplied it beyond their expectations. Everyone ate until satisfied and still there was overflow. When we bring our best to the Lord, to our areas of influence, and to our families Jesus multiplies it beyond our expectations and silences the doubts and fears of the enemy.

Father, thank you for the opportunities you give us to bring our best every day. Thank you for enabling us with wisdom, creativity, and strength to go beyond what we see and the faith to trust you in everything. Please guide us past the lies of the enemy and into the promises of your provision. We ask these things in the great name of Jesus Christ, Amen

August 30, 2020 The Armor of God

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
