What are the worship services like?

We offer 4 services each Sunday, one off-campus, and three on-campus.  

8:30 am – Worship at the Lake, located at Civitan Park/1130 Sunset Dr.  Reminder – bring your lawn chair for this contemporary outdoor service.

9:00 am – Contemporary Service, located in the Worship Center/609 Blount Avenue. 

9:00 am & 11:00 am – Traditional Worship in the Main Sanctuary.   

What do I wear?

We want you to be comfortable! At our Traditional services you will find most people in dressy casual. (Although if you come in jeans and a T-shirt, that’s just fine!) At the Contemporary services dress is relaxed and easy.  Worship at the Lake is T-shirts, shorts, jeans-very casual.

Do I need to bring a Bible?

Of course you can, but we also have Bibles available for you.  

What about my kids?

Our nursery is available for all on-campus Sunday services, beginning at 8:45 am.  For older children, we have Sunday School Classes at 10:00 am, or they are welcomed to worship with you.  We also have a group for your teenagers at 10:00 am, and they are encouraged to worship with you at 8:30 am Worship at the Lake and the 9:00 am Contemporary Service.  Click on the Ministries tab above for details for your children.

Is the church handicapped accessible?

Yes! For access to the Sanctuary/Main Building we offer both a ramp and an elevator. The Worship Center/609 Blount Ave. entrances are handicap accessible.  

What if I want to join?

Wonderful! First you need to call 256-582-2001, ext. 210 and ask Melissa Shoemake for an appointment with one of our pastors.  In order to become a member, you must profess Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and have been or be baptized.  If you were baptized in another denomination, we accept that baptism.  If not, we will be honored to do so when you join.

What if I have questions about the Methodist faith, or this congregation?

We have answers! Once a quarter we offer “Step” classes.  Check on our church calendar, or call Ann Lee at 256-582-2001, ext. 225 for a class schedule.
